about
When I am laid in earth (1689) is an aria from the opera Dido and Aneas by Henry Purcell. It paints the picture of the queen of Carthage who is committed to undoing herself. Heartbroken and wanting to leave the world without any more harm or trouble, she resolves herself to die on a funeral pyre by her own hand.
This is the brainchild of Violen and Salyara. Creating the world of Industrial Opera. Drawing on such influences as The Sisters of Mercy, VNV Nation, Switchblade Symphony and Nine Inch Nails.
All tracks will always be free, but donations are appreciated as they will help pay for recording gear and performance gear. As well as our invested time in the project.
lyrics
When I am laid, am laid in earth, may my wrongs create
No trouble, no trouble in, in thy breast
When I am laid, am laid in earth, may my wrongs create
No trouble, no trouble in, in thy breast
Remember me, remember me, but ah
Forget my fate
Remember me, but ah
Forget my fate
Remember me, remember me, but ah
Forget my fate
Remember me, but ah
Forget my fate
